Usage of emergency equipment
First Aid Kit. – The First Aid Kit is for parental
usage to
provide medical attention for minor scrapes and cuts.
Please do not let children rummage through the First Aid
Kit. The kit will have Band-Aids,
scissors, and antibacterial treatments.
If there is a serious injury please call 911 from the pay phone
to get
professional medical treatment.
Life Rings – Any person that notices a person
struggling in
the water can use the Life Rings. When
using the life ring, hold the rope so that it will feed out freely as
the ring
is thrown. Throw the ring passed the
victim so you can pull back to them.
Don’t throw the ring short expecting that the victim can swim to
it.
Back Board - This can be used to aid in removing
unconscious
victims. When removing unconscious
victims, assume that they have some form of neck injury and limit neck
movement
as much as possible. Call 911 for any
unconscious rescue.
Shepherds hook – The shepherds hook can be used to
aid a
person struggling in the water. Use the
hook to pull the person to the side of the pool or to sallow water
where they
can stand. The hook is not strong
enough to lift a person out of the water.
