Two new Board of Director members elected;
New BOD officers elected











    Two new Board of Directors were elected by the membership during the 2005 February annual meeting.  They are Diane Lauer and Gary Reiner.   
    Diane Lauer  recently moved into Guilbeau Park.  She is a real estate agent with Keller Williams.  Her husband, Don, is currently active duty in the US Air Force stationed at     Lackland AFB and has served for over 22 years.  Her       professional experiences includes rehabilitation with the deaf,  community college education with the deaf, in-patient and community mental health, chemical addictions, patient education and service for persons with cancer and their  families, assisting persons receiving public assistance to go to work, and now real estate.  She has two step children, ages 13 and 18. 









    Gary Reiner has been acting as the Board of          Directors Secretary for the last year.  He moved to San Antonio from Wisconsin in 1985 and started teaching in the San Antonio Independent School District,        retiring from SAISD in 2001.  In his 33 years teaching he taught every grade from 2nd through 12th.   He has a son and daughter, both now adults and living out of state. 
     On March 1st the Board met for the first time with the new board members.  The first order of business was to elect officers.  The election results were: 
Gary Reiner: Preseident
Oscar Ochoa: Vice President
Diane Lauer: Secretary












Pool cabana roof gets needed work









Board of Directors looking to hire three pool monitors for 2005 season














As part of the continuing maintenance of the pool we had the cabana re-roofed.  Additionally, emergency repairs to the fence were required.   













The Board of Directors will be hiring three pool monitors for the 2005 season.  The minimum age monitors will be 18 and the three monitors will split approximately 53 hours per week.  The pay will probably be $7--$8 per hour.  You can pick up an application at the management office on Tezel or you can download a copy from the GPOA website (gpoa.org).         Applications can be either turned into the management office or emailed to the office.  The email address for applications will be board@gpoa.org or mpotex@swbell.net. 















May 7th voting for District 6 to be held at Guilbeau Park Community Center











    The GPOA Community Center will be available for the May 7th San Antonio Special Elections.   Election day voting hours will be 7 a.m.--7 p.m.  District 6 is the south side of New Guilbeau Road.
