There is no doubt that these are hard economic times for many families.  Loss of job, medical injury or illness can   easily plunge a family into economic chaos.  Or there just   isn't enough money for emergencies like a broken major    appliance, clothes your kids need for school, or car repairs.  What do you do?  Some will juggle payments, some will    ignore payments, others will consider bankruptcy, and others will get a divorce just because they are so frustrated with their financial situation they don't know what else to do.  And there are many variations.  All of these methods are very costly and can further ruin your credit.
