New By-Laws And Architectural Review Committees Off And Running
St. PJ Kids Get Soap Making Class
When the St. PJ kids were here for Easter, they asked Debbie Moses from our management company if she would teach them how to make the novelty soaps she has been making for them.  She agreed and on Saturday, July 10th, at 9:00 a.m. in the community  center, she will hold a class for them.  All volunteers will be welcome.  Please bring your microwave and glass measuring cups.  For more information, call   Debbie at the management office.
The Board of Directors are grateful to and pleased to announced that three GPOA members have stepped forward to work on our new committees.  Gary Reiner, Julie Harvley, and Kathy Eberhardt volunteered to work on the Architectural Review Committee (ARC) and By-laws revision committees, giving the committees the minimum number of three to begin their duties.
The By-laws committee will be reviewing the by-laws and submitting suggestions of revisions for the BOD, who will then pass on a proposed revision to the members in a special meeting later in the year.  The By-laws have never been received a complete review since they were originally written by the developer.  The ARC will meet on the second, third and fourth Tuesday at the community center to review the Covenants for revision and to review any submissions by members for the proposed changes to their homes.  The Architectural Requests can either be sent through the management office or taken in person to the ARC on any of their review nights.
Consumer Credit Card Internet Site
Credit cards are such a big business today that you, like myself, are probably inundated with credit card  offers on a daily basis.  I find at least five in my mailbox every single day.  But how do you decide which one you should apply for?  Should you drop the current one you have for another?  Now there is a new Internet site that can help you make these decisions.  It's called CardRatings.com.
CardRatings.com wraps up just about everything you need into one site.  In addition to checking out credit cards you can also use the site to link over to areas that you can have your personal credit checked or find credit card counseling services.  There is also a section for calculating credit through calculators.  You can check debt consolidation, fee vs low rate, rate comparison, rewards vs low rate, air miles vs low rate, payoff balances, or consolidate cards.  These can all be extremely helpful in deciding just where you need to go with your credit and credit cards.  But the main benefit from this site is the credit card searches themselves.
The Card Reports area allows you to review credit card reviews by: alpha search, search by card issuer, search by card category, most popular cards, and least favorite cards.
If you search by card category you will finds a multitude of options to search from.  For instance there is a whole section on reward cards.  These are broken down into categories like airline, auto, cash, gas, retail, telephone, etc.  Under the main card categories you will find business, charge, credit union, debit, foreign, gas card, poor credit, pre-paid, regular, retail, secured, and student.  As you can see they are hitting just about every category.
The reviews are written by card holders themselves, so you are not getting a sales pitch.  You can sort the statistical results by rating, total number of reviews, or date of the last review.  All in all, a very well laid out site and very informative for the credit conscience consumer.
