A combined annual and special meeting was held on 19 February at the GPOA Community Center to vote on issues brought forward by Carol Wilson, as president of the Association, and to fill two positions on the board of directors.  Approximately 50 members showed up to vote the issues along with many proxies collected from members who could not attend.  Every issue brought forward was favorably passed.  Those issues were:
1.     Remove the $20 pool reserve assessment from the annual assessment; thereby making total annual assessment $180.
2.     Combine both reserve accounts to one account.
3.     Abolish positive voting
4.     Create an Architectural Review Committee in accordance with Article XI of the Bylaws
5.     Board meetings to be held once monthly instead of twice a month

Two new members were elected to board of directors positions.  These will be Tom Ashmore and Oscar Ochoa.  Mark Wolfshohl and Dominick Dina completed their terms of office with the completion of the meeting and deserve a      sincere thank you from the community for their service.

Combined Garage Sale Scheduled At Community Center;
Proceeds To Benefit Guilbeau Gators Swim Team
By Carol Wilson
    Comments to me from members over the last 2 years indicate that most people, whether they have kids or not, think the swim team is a good thing for our neighborhood kids.  On the other hand, many of those who do not have kids on the swim team tend to think we budget too much money to them.  Unfortunately, costs keep going up for swim team coaches and         instructors to the point that having the parents pay for the total cost of all expenses may put this community activity out of reach.
    Even with the GPOA subsidizing a portion of the costs the total expenses are going to be difficult to cover.  To help alleviate the money problem, Cheryl Acosta and Noreen Johnsen, the two ladies who oversee the swim team program for us, are using fundraisers.  THEY NEED HELP!!
St. PJs Kids Invited To Easter Activities
Last Christmas the residents at Gilbeau Park sponsored the children from St. Peter/St. Joseph's Children's Home.  The children where so grateful for your generous gifts.  On Saturday, April 3rd, at 2:00 p.m., we are having an Easter egg roll for the St. PJ kids.  This will not be on the scale that Christmas was,     however, we need to have some candy for the Easter
